In Loving Memory of Judith "Judy" Campbell
December 9, 1940 - May 30, 2025
Judith "Judy" Campbell, age 84, of Tinley Park, IL, passed away peacefully on May 30, 2025, just four weeks after the love of her life, Richard Campbell, went on ahead to prepare the way. Married for 62 beautiful years, Judy and Richard were rarely apart in this life, and now, they are together again, hand in hand, as they were meant to be. Their love story, one of unwavering commitment and tenderness, now continues beyond this life.
From the moment she became a mother, Judy made it her life's mission to pour her heart into her children. Her love was unconditional, infinite, a guiding light in every storm, a soft place to land, and a source of strength that could never be measured. She found her greatest joy not in accolades or accomplishments, but in the simple, beautiful moments of raising her family. Her children were her heart, her purpose, her true joy, and her proudest legacy.
She was the cherished mother of Jennifer Campbell, Julie (Mike) Budlove, Richard (Susan) Campbell, Janell (Rich) Price, Jeffrey (Stacy) Campbell, and Jody (Brian) Lowe.
Her love only grew as her family did. She was a proud and adoring grandmother to 19 grandchildren: Heather (Bryan) Zavala, Ashley (Tom) Kletnick, Bradley (Kelsey) Szymusiak, Mitchell (Mackenzie) Budlove, Matthew Budlove, Melissa Budlove, Amanda (Kyle) Szumigalski, Katelyn Campbell, Richard Campbell, Megan Campbell, Alyssa Campbell, Amber Campbell, Brandon Price, Marissa Campbell, Nicholas Campbell, Kayla Campbell, Colin Campbell, Jacob Lowe, and Logan Lowe. She was also blessed with eight great-grandchildren, each one a bright spark in her life.
She is survived by her loving siblings, Rosemary (the late Dave) Oaks, Edward (the late Dolly) Smith, Loretta (the late Wayne) Taktus, and Patricia (the late Jack) Bajo, where they were raised in the Roseland Community in Chicago. Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Bruna Smith.
Her love wasn't just felt, it was prayed over. Judy said the rosary faithfully, praying daily for each of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her prayers were gentle but powerful, a quiet way of wrapping each loved one in protection and love. Her faith was deeply personal and rooted in her role as a mother, and she carried it with grace every day of her life.
To know Judy was to know true generosity. She was a giving person who would give you anything you needed. She gave of herself constantly and without hesitation, her time, her kindness, her heart, and anything she had if she thought someone else needed it more. Whether it was a warm meal, a thoughtful gift, or simply a listening ear, she gave with an open heart and without expecting anything in return.
Judy's legacy lives on in the generations she raised, the recipes she passed down, the love she gave so freely, the prayers she whispered for her family, and the countless little things that she quietly and joyfully did every day.
We will carry her with us, always.
Rest gently, Judy. We love you endlessly.
With the passing of Judy's husband, Richard, so recent, the services will be private.
