August 30, 1937 - May 18, 2025
William "Bill" LeBeau, a devoted husband, gifted builder, and lifelong engineer at heart, departed this world peacefully on May 18, 2025, at the age of 87.
Born on August 30, 1937, to Earl and Pearl LeBeau, Bill was an only child who grew up with a love of tinkering, precision, and creativity. He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, as well as his sister-in-law Joan Goeppner and brother-in-law Jack Mangan.
Bill shared 66 wonderful years of marriage with the love of his life, Jean (Mangan) LeBeau. Their bond was one of enduring companionship and shared joy-a partnership that spanned decades of laughter, projects, and travels.
He is survived by his sister-in-law June (Mangan) Sheerin, brother-in-law Thomas Mangan, and a large, loving extended family of Mangan, Sheerin, and Goeppner nieces and nephews, all of whom brought him great pride and joy throughout his life.
Bill enjoyed a long and fulfilling career with AT&T, where his natural engineering mindset and dedication to quality left a lasting impact. Yet his truest joys were often found at home, in the company of his tools, trains, and blueprints. A master of model railroads, Bill built intricate villages and landscapes by hand, recreating the world in miniature with astonishing detail.
Never one to back away from a challenge, Bill also brought to life a Myers Manx dune buggy and a replica Bugatti-both crafted on Volkswagen chassis-because if it could be imagined, he could build it.
His life was a testament to quiet passion, enduring love, and the joy of creation. Though he left this world with little fanfare, the tracks he laid-both literal and metaphorical-will guide those who loved him for years to come.
A memorial visitation will be held on Monday June 9th, 2025 at St. Mary Catholic Church 19515 115th Ave, Mokena, IL 60448 at 10:00 AM until a Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM.
In lieu of flowers, the family invites you to remember Bill by taking the time to build something with your hands-or simply by appreciating the beauty in the details most others overlook.
