Thomas Gerard Putman, Age 58, of Crystal Lake Il, passed peacefully Wednesday morning at the JourneyCare Hospice Center of Barrington where he was surrounded by his loving family.
Tom was born on November 20, 1962 in Hazel Crest Il. to Dutch immigrants, Anton and Mary (Stoelinga) Putman and was the third of 5 children. He attended St. Anne grade school in Hazel Crest, Il. from 1970-1977 and then graduated in 1981 from Thornwood High School in South Holland, Il.
Tom married Jacqueline (Hails) on February 27, 2016. He had 3 beautiful children, Blake, Alaina, and Olivia during his marriage to Sylvia (Leyers). He gained 2 more children after his marriage to Jackie (Tiffany & Brittany Dougherty)and became a loving Opa (grandfather) to Violet.
Tom loved a challenge and lived life with passion. He enjoyed extreme sports like moto-cross and jet skiing, from which his strong work ethic and determination were developed. From an early age Tom realized he enjoyed woodworking and home improvements. His dedication to that profession promoted his talent as an artisan carpenter. He has built many beautiful homes during his 35 year career and his work allowed him to express his passion for his craft.
He is survived by his children, his wife, granddaughter, his parents, his brothers John (Tina), James, Anton Jr, his sister Corinne, and many Aunts, Uncles, cousins, nephews, nieces and friends.
