Thomas Keenan, 38, of Manteno, Illinois, passed away on March 31, 2026.
Tommy was a devoted father, loving son, brother, uncle, and friend whose life was centered around caring for others. His children, Kyla and Kade, were his entire world. He was endlessly proud of them, spoke of them often, and loved them with his whole heart. Everything he did was with them in mind.
Tommy was known for his remarkable intelligence, incredible work ethic, and the pride he took in his work. A highly skilled and specialized satellite installer, he built a business of his own and worked on large satellite systems for government and defense projects around the world. He was respected for his knowledge and ability, installing complex defense satellites as well as systems such as Starlink and HughesNet. Tommy had a gift for understanding things that others found difficult. He could solve problems quickly, figure out how to make things work, and was often the person people turned to when no one else had the answer.
As smart and hardworking as he was, Tommy will be remembered most for the kind of man he was. He was funny, kind, and had a way of making people laugh when they needed it most.
He had a gentle heart and was always a protector, especially when it came to standing up to bullies or helping someone who was being treated unfairly. Tommy could never stand by when someone needed help. He cared for others more than he cared for himself and gave of himself freely without ever expecting anything in return.
He was helpful, sensitive, caring, and generous to a fault. If someone needed a hand, Tommy was there. If someone was struggling, he quietly stepped in. His kindness was constant, and his love and loyalty will be missed deeply by all who knew him.
Tommy is survived by his beloved children, Kyla and Kade Keenan; his loving mother, Mary Keenan; his brother, Tim (Moriah Brent) Keenan; his cherished nieces, Brooklynn, Kylie, and Savanna; several loving aunts, uncles, extended family members, and friends; and his faithful deaf dog, Clipsey, who was his constant companion.
He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Keenan, and his beloved dog, Barney.
