Thomas "Tom" R. Dodge, Jr. late of Peotone IL, formerly of Tinley Park (Brementown), and Chicago, IL.
Tom Dodge, a devoted man of faith, respected builder, and loving family patriarch, passed away peacefully, surrounded by those he loved.
The son of the late Thomas Sr. and Beulah Dodge, Tom graduated from Westcott Vocational School, where he proudly served as Class President. He went on to build a remarkable career in the building trades-first as a civil engineer for the State of Illinois, and later as a plant manager for several major companies, including Material Service Corporation and Prestress Engineering. His expertise helped shape the Chicagoland skyline, contributing to iconic structures such as the John Hancock Building and several of the concrete features of Millennium Park.
But Tom's greatest milestone came in the early 1970s when he gave his life to the Lord. From that moment on, his faith became the cornerstone of everything he did. A longtime member of Christian Hills Church in Orland Hills, Tom served faithfully as a Deacon and Elder, led building maintenance and construction projects, and founded the church's Bus Ministry. Later, he and his beloved wife, June, became members of All Nations Community Church before helping their son launch Solutions Church-a ministry Tom proudly supported.
Whether through concrete and steel or prayer and service, Tom spent his life building-especially others build relationships with Christ.
He was the beloved husband of June Dodge, loving father of Tim Dodge and Danny (Grethel) Dodge; proud grandpa of Caitlin (Juan) De La Parra, Jeremy (Courtney), and Daniela Dodge; and cherished great-grandpa to Oliver, Tyler, Brodie, and Lainey. He was the dear brother-in-law of Linda Daniel and a caring uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Tom's legacy of faith, family, and craftsmanship will live on in the lives he touched and the foundations he laid. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
