Robert L. Menclewicz, 95, late of Mokena, US Army Korean War Veteran.
We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our beloved uncle, Robert Menclewicz, who lived a vibrant 95 years.
Uncle Bob peacefully passed away on Monday, December 30, 2024, in his Mokena home. He was born in South Chicago and was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Geraldine (Jerry), his parents Felix and Estelle, and his three siblings.
Affectionately known as "Cadillac Bob," he led an extraordinary life. Together with Jerry, he traveled the world, visiting many continents and even walking the Great Wall of China!
A proud Korean War Veteran, Uncle Bob served as a cook and lost his younger brother, Clarence, in the conflict. In 2016, Bob had the honor of participating in an Honor Flight, an experience he cherished deeply.
Uncle Bob had a special love for animals, especially his dogs, who returned his affection unconditionally.
Bob will be greatly missed by his nieces, nephews, and friends. His life was a shining example of kindness, and he leaves behind a legacy that inspires all of us to live with compassion and love.
A Visitation will be held on Friday, January 3, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Vandenberg Funeral Home, 19604 Wolf Road, Mokena, IL 60448. Entombment with Military Honors will be held in Holy Cross Cemetery.
