MaryAnn Gawley

MaryAnn Gawley, age 95, passed away peacefully on July 25, 2025, in Valparaiso, Indiana. A longtime former resident of Tinley Park, MaryAnn was the beloved wife of the late Severin Gawley.

She was the devoted mother of Thomas (Diane) Gawley, Severin "Ted" (Susan) Gawley, Nanci (Ken) Fisher, Tim (Nancy) Gawley, and the late Cheryl Gawley. Cherished grandmother of Kelle (Sean) King, Timothy (Jennifer), Krysten Gawley (Chris), Kenneth (Tracy), Severin (Lenora), and John (Jessica). Proud great-grandmother of Peyton, Summer, Gianna, Grayson, Dominic, Dylan, and John David.

In her earlier years, MaryAnn worked as a secretary before finding her true calling as a banquet and party planner at Prestwick Country Club, where she brought joy to countless celebrations. What brought her the most joy, however, was gathering with family and friends and attending church. Her warm heart and welcoming spirit made everyone feel at home.

MaryAnn was preceded in death by her parents, Theodore and Wilemina Oostema, and her siblings, Theodore, Edward, Margaret, and Ruth.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Vandenberg Funeral Home, 17248 Harlem Avenue, Tinley Park, IL. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 10:00 AM at the funeral home. Interment to follow at Tinley Park Memorial Cemetery.
