Martin "Jim" J. Downey, age 85, late of Fort Myers, FL. formerly of Orland Park, IL. Beloved husband of 56 years to the late Margaret " Peggy" Downey. Loving father of Kevin (Melissa) Downey, Kari (Cary) Dyer and the late Jeffrey Downey. Devoted and loving grandfather (Papa) of Nicholas and Zachary Downey, Lillian and Griffin Dyer. Dearest son of the late Martin William and Dorothy Catherine Downey. He was the president of Armor Tile in Crestwood, IL. and a long time member of Crystal Tree Golf Club and Miromar Lakes Golf Club. He was an avid golfer and had a heart of gold. Funeral Friday January 9, 2026 9:30 AM from the Vandenberg Funeral Home 17248 S. Harlem Avenue Tinley Park, IL. to St. George Catholic Church Mass 10:00 AM. Interment in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Visitation Thursday January 8, 2026 from 4:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
