Lois J. Yunker

Lois Jeanette Yunker, 96, lifelong resident of Mokena, IL. Beloved wife of the late Wallace Christian Yunker. Loving mother of Linda Englert, Laura Navoy, and Leann Yunker (Jeff). Cherished grandmother of April, Katy, Jessica, and Kristian, and proud great-grandmother of Anna, Ava, Aaron, Silas, Gus, Alexandria, Ruby, Sage, Emerson, and Indi. Dear sister of the late Manning J. Hutson (Marion), the late Mary Lou “Pat” Hutson, and the late Randi Hurley. Caring aunt of Greg, Doug, Geoff, Rob, the late Debbie, Dave, Cindy, Pat, Terri, and Jim.

Lois was a dedicated parishioner of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Mokena, where she and Wallace were married at the church’s original downtown Mokena location. She worked for many years as a school registrar at Lincoln-Way High School. Lois was an accomplished crocheter who lovingly created beautiful baby blankets for her grandchildren and family, leaving behind treasured keepsakes that will continue to warm generations to come.

The family would also like to express their heartfelt gratitude for the kindness and support shown by her dear neighbors Kyle and Kelly, Jeanne and Dan, and Bob and Rose.

Visitation will be held Saturday, May 23, 2026, from 12:00 Noon until time of Family Reflection at 2:00 PM at Vandenberg Funeral Home, 19604 Wolf Road, Mokena, IL 60448. Interment to follow at St. John’s Cemetery, Mokena.
