Joseph Jude Rottman, age 77, of Mokena, Illinois, passed away on August 14, 2025. Joe was born on January 30, 1948 in Chicago, Illinois, to Grover and Helen Rottman.
He was a loving son, brother, husband, father, and grandfather. A devout Catholic, he was known for his extraordinary kindness, devotion to family, and zest for life.
Joe was married to his beloved wife, Bobbie K. Rottman, for 31 years, and together they shared a beautiful life filled with adventure and travel.
He was a cherished father and grandfather (Poppy) to daughter Jennifer A. (Charlie) Mifflin and grandchildren Peter and Gigi; son Joseph G. (Kate) Rottman and grandchildren JB and Will; as well as Bobbie’s children Natalie (Dennis) Dowling with grandchildren Justin and Jack, and son, Rob Zelesko.
In addition to being loving and caring, Joe was funny, curious, endlessly industrious, and someone you could always depend on. He had a sharp wit, a love for irony, and the heart of a poet. He found joy in lifting others and made everyone he loved better simply by being near. We will miss his warm smile and gentle heart, always.
Joe is survived by his wife; his children; his sisters, Mary Rose Rottman and Barb (Rottman) Rusnak; and his grandchildren.
Services have taken place, and he was laid to rest at Good Shepherd Cemetery in Orland Park, IL.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in his name to Lightways Hospice to honor Joe’s legacy.
Our hearts ache in Joe's absence, but we are comforted knowing he is now an angel in heaven, watching over us.
