John Mrofka Jr.

John Mrofka Jr., 77, late of Tinley Park.

Beloved husband of Lynn Mrofka, née Wilson. Loving father of Casey (Sheri) Mrofka and Ben (Cari) Mrofka. Proud and loving grandfather of Mekayla, Shaylyn, Jacob, and Ella. Dear brother of the late Carrie Pienta and Elizabeth Mrofka.

John was a proud 36-year UAW carpenter for General Motors. A talented craftsman, he was known for his remarkable carpentry skills and his ability to build and repair nearly anything. John also had a lifelong love of cars, especially his Camaro.

An avid outdoorsman and sportsman, John enjoyed fishing, hunting, and shooting. He and Lynn operated a trapshooting range and spent many cherished years together at the Lake Will Sportsmen, where John proudly served as president for four years.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 7:00 p.m. at Vandenberg Funeral Home, 17248 Harlem Avenue, Tinley Park, IL 60477.

Inurnment will take place privately at Bohemian National Cemetery in Braidwood, IL.
