Joan C. De Paulo, 93, late of Smith Crossing in Orland Park and a longtime resident of Midlothian, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family. Beloved wife of the late Joe De Paulo, with whom she shared 59 wonderful years of marriage. Loving mother of Joe (Deb) De Paulo, Sue (Mike) McFadden, and Dave (Audrey) De Paulo. Cherished grandmother of Christie (Tim) Kane, Jamie (Clay) Disney, Torie (Matt) Champine, Michael (Sylvia) McFadden, Kacie McFadden, Nick (Allyce) McFadden, David (Kathleen) De Paulo, Courtney (Jeff) Gehlhaus, and Brian (Tabitha) De Paulo. Proud and loving great-grandmother of 16. Joan was preceded in death by her parents and her three sisters.
Joan's greatest joy and highest priority was always her family. She treasured every opportunity to bring everyone together, especially for her annual family picnic, which became a beloved tradition filled with laughter, memories, and togetherness. She was an enthusiastic game player who enjoyed cards, mah-jongg, and dominoes. Joan was also a die-hard Chicago Cubs fan who faithfully cheered on her team. She loved traveling and especially enjoyed spending the winter months in Marco Island, Florida.
Joan will be remembered for her love of family, her joyful spirit, and the many cherished traditions and memories she leaves behind.
Memorial Visitation will be held Thursday, July 16, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. at Vandenberg Funeral Home, 19604 Wolf Road, Mokena, Illinois. A Memorial Mass will follow at 12:00 p.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church (19515 115th Street, Mokena, IL.)
