In Loving Memory of James Allen Piech
"God sure painted a beautiful picture today." - Jimbo
On Thursday, July 23, at 12:18 p.m., James Allen Piech, lovingly known to many as Jim, Jimbo, or Homer, ascended and left us at the age of 78 years young.
On behalf of his wife of 57 years Patricia Piech (nee Wieckowicz), his daughters Dawn (Alison Bock) Piech, and Jennifer (Scott) Stevens, Grandchildren Emma, Evan, Ava, and Adele, and his brother Joe (Char) Piech and Goddaughter and Niece Jamie (Jim) Mateicka, we wish to express our heartfelt gratitude and love to our family, friends, community, and the Loyola University Medical Center and his healthcare team. Over the past three and a half years, your love, support, encouragement, assistance, and guidance have meant more to our family than words can adequately express. We are deeply grateful to everyone who walked alongside Jim and our family during this journey as well as along Jim during his life.
Jim's life touched many people, and his absence will be deeply felt by those who knew and loved him. As we reflect on his life, we hold close the memories, stories, laughter, and moments that made him so special to each of us.
A Celebration of Life will be held in Jim's honor at Parkview Christian Church at 11100 Orland Parkway, Orland Park, IL 60467, 708-478-7477 on September 26, 2026 with a visitation starting at 10 AM and a Memorial Service at 11:00 AM
We warmly invite everyone who knew Jim to help us celebrate his life by sharing your favorite memories, stories, and photographs. Whether it is a story that still makes you laugh, a moment of kindness you will never forget, or simply a photograph that captures Jim as you remember him, we would love to see and hear it. Your stories, photographs, prayers, kindness, and support are a beautiful reminder of the many lives he touched.
Thank you for surrounding Jim and our family with so much love.
Rest peacefully, Jimbo. You will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever carried in our hearts.
