Jack R. Winter, 68, late of Yachats, Oregon, formerly of Mokena, Illinois. Beloved son of Betty and the late John Winter. Loving brother of Pamela (the late Ron) Toppen and Rich Szkarlat. Caring uncle of Amy Toppen, Amanda Gralewski, and the late Aaron Toppen. Proud great-uncle of Taylor, Aubrey, and Sydney. Jack was friend of many both locally and around the world, he will be greatly missed.
Jack was a proud graduate of the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. He had a deep love for music, especially Grateful Dead, remaining a true "Dead Head" to his core throughout his life. Jack found peace and happiness in the outdoors, enjoying sailing, fishing, and spending time surrounded by nature. He also had a special passion for his beloved Camaro, which he was always trying to restore. Jack enjoyed golfing, even thought he wasn't terribly good at it. Jack proudly supported Our Fallen Hero Foundation as President and valued the mission of honoring and supporting veterans and their families.
