Helen Warning

Helen Warning nèe Swanberg, late of Frankfort, IL went home to the Lord on November 21, 2025.
Born on May 27, 1931 in Joliet, IL. Survived by her loving children, Pamela (William) Sheaks of Danville, KY, Craig (Kimberly) Warning of Mokena, and Brad Warning of Crete. Loving grandmother of Blake (Brittany) Sheaks, Eric (Olivia) Sheaks, Michael Warning (Sarah Jarvis, fiancé), Julie (Anthony) St. Yves, and Steven Warning. Great-grandmother of Greyson Sheaks, Owen Sheaks, and Noah Sheaks. Also survived by one sister, Geraldine (late Randall) Bunte of Frankfort and one brother, Ralph (Sheila) Swanberg of Mokena. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.

Preceded in death by her devoted husband of 44 years, Fremont N. "Bud" Warning in 1996; her parents, Andrew and Ruth (Bostrom) Swanberg; three brothers, Harold (late Myrtle) Swanberg, Charles (late Gladys) Swanberg, and George (late Lorraine) Swanberg; five sisters, Lorraine (late Jack) Gardner, Marian (late Jack) Nordsell, Gladys Swanberg, Delores Swanberg, and Gwendolyn (late Clifford) Christianson.Formerly employed by Swanberg Farm & Auto Service in Mokena as a bookkeeper. Retired in 1996 from St. John's United Church of Christ in Mokena as custodian for 20 years. Lifelong member of St. John's United Church of Christ, past member of St. John's Church Council, former Sunday School teacher, member of St. John's Women's Circle, member of Will-South Cook Rural Letter Carriers Association Auxiliary, charter member of Drift Around Squares Square Dance Club. Her favorite pastime was playing the piano.

Visitation will be held on Monday, November 24, 2025, 3:00-8:00 PM at Vandenberg Funeral Home, 19604 Wolf Road, Mokena, IL. 60448. Lying in State Tuesday, November 25, 2025, 10:00 AM until time of Service 11:00 AM at St. John's United Church of Christ 11100 Second Street, Mokena, IL. Rev. Rocky Sheneman. Interment to follow in St. John's Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Lightways Hospice, 250 Water Stone Circle, Joliet, IL.60431
