Harry R. Condon Jr., age 79, late of Crete, IL, passed away September 4, 2026. He was a proud U.S. Army Veteran and a beloved member of his family and community. Harry cherished spending time with his family and could always be counted on to be present at family gatherings and special events. His love for his family was evident in the time he shared with them and the memories he helped create.

After many years of dedicated service to the community, Harry retired from his position as the Director of Youth and Family Services for the City of Calumet City. Throughout his career, Harry had the privilege of working with children, youth, families, and community members, helping to develop and support programs and services designed to strengthen families and improve the quality of life within the community.

An avid golfer, Harry enjoyed spending time on the golf course, especially at courses in Crete and at Deer Creek Golf Course. He also enjoyed setting up venues for bands, dancing, and being part of the music and entertainment that brought people together.

One of Harry's favorite traditions was attending the Glenn Miller Festival in Clarinda, Iowa, where he enjoyed celebrating the music he loved. He was also a devoted Chicago White Sox fan and enjoyed cheering on his team.

Harry especially treasured his trips to Arizona to visit Thomas and Kathy, along with his nieces and nephews. These visits gave him the opportunity to spend precious time with family and create lasting memories. Harry will be remembered for his love of family, his enjoyment of golf, music, dancing, baseball, and his willingness to be there for the people he loved. He leaves behind many cherished memories that will remain in the hearts of his family and friends.

Beloved brother of Diane (Robert) Jaburek, Steve (Shirley) Condon, Thomas (Kathy) Condon, and the late Stacy Condon. Dear son of the late Harry R. Condon Sr. and the late Isabel F. Condon. Uncle of several nieces and nephews.

Memorial Visitation, Friday, September 11, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. until time of Chapel Service at 6:00 p.m. at Vandenberg Funeral Home, 17248 S. Harlem Ave. Tinley Park, IL 60447. Interment will be at a later date.
