Georgann Gow, age 83, passed away peacefully on February 2, 2026, at the family home in New Lenox, IL surrounded by the love of her family.
Georgann was the beloved wife of Richard Gow, with whom she shared 64 years of marriage and a lifetime of devotion. Their love story began on December 7, 1958, in Tinley Park, when they met through friends while preparing for a school dance. After dance lessons, they would take long walks together, and after a month, Richard gathered the courage to ask Georgann out. He quickly won her heart and the hearts of her family as well.
Georgann and Richard were married on May 27, 1961, at St. George's Church in Tinley Park. Their son Jeffrey was born exactly two years later, followed by their daughter Paula on Father's Day two years after that. Together, they created a warm and loving home in Mokena, filled with laughter, tradition, and togetherness.
In October of 1980, the family purchased a cherished cottage on Lake Shafer, where summers were spent making lifelong memories. Their boat, aptly named Lucky 7, reflected the seven members of the family who gathered there. It was always remembered as a true family cottage and remains in the family to this day.
Georgann and Richard were inseparable, often seen holding hands wherever they went. Richard lovingly called her his "Angel," a name that reflected the gentleness, warmth, and love she gave so freely. Their years together were filled with square dancing, time spent with family, and quiet moments enjoying puzzles and puzzle books. After retirement, Georgann found great joy in watching her grandchildren and being present for their lives.
She was a devoted grandmother who delighted in spoiling her grandchildren, Amanda and Kyle, and took immense pride in her family. Above all else, Georgann thoroughly enjoyed being surrounded by those she loved.
Georgann is survived by her husband of 64 years, Richard Gow, her forever hand holder; her children, Jeffrey (Dawn) Gow and Paula (Ben) Bozzetti; and her beloved grandchildren, Amanda Bozzetti and Kyle Bozzetti.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William Bovee and Anne McNally, as well as her siblings.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 7, 2026, from 11:00 AM - 3:00 PM. Prayer Service, Saturday, February 7, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Vandenberg Funeral Home in Mokena.
