Eric Joseph Marquardt.
It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of Eric Joseph Marquardt's passing at the age of 40 in Windermere, Florida, on January 4th. Eric was not just a beloved son, brother, and friend; he was a beacon of light whose vibrant spirit left an enduring impact on all who had the privilege of knowing him.
He is preceded in death by many Grandparents and Aunts that loved him dearly.
Born to Eric James and Annette Marie, he was the cherished elder brother to Adam (Jennifer), Kevin (Maria Elena), and Kara. He embraced the title of uncle to Ryland and Koleden, nephews who admired him, and to Kinsley, Amli, and Elena Marie, nieces who held his guidance dear. Amli, in particular, occupied a special place in his heart, where he proudly stood as her godfather.
Eric was an amazing nephew and cousin to many. He cherished the time and memories made with his cousins over the years, especially relishing the moments spent with Uncle John and Aunt Andrea, as well as their children Kristen (Hunter), Jack (Lindsay), and Michael (Nina). Their home was a haven of love and laughter for Eric, creating memories that he held dear throughout his life.
Friendship was another cornerstone of Eric's life. Mark and Patti Swanson weren't merely friends; they were family. Their bond exemplified the strength of his connections and the authentic warmth he shared with those close to him.
Eric's journey was a testament to resilience, overcoming health challenges since his early years at Children's Hospital, culminating in his graduation from college and a dedicated tenure of over 17 years working at Disneyworld. His love for sports, Disney, and movies mirrored his joyous approach to life, leaving an indelible mark on the countless lives he touched. Each person fortunate enough to have met him is undoubtedly richer for the experience.
As we mourn the loss of Eric, let us also celebrate the vibrant, loving spirit that defined him. May the shared memories of laughter, love, and joy bring solace to our hearts during this difficult time.
