Edward L. Paben, 76, late of Mokena, IL. US Marine Corp Veteran. Beloved husband of Catherine Paben. Loving father of Terra (George) Comerford, Michelle (Christopher) Schneider, Paul (Martha) Paben. Proud and caring papa of Andrew (Mia), Ian, Eva, Lily, Lucas, Marcella, Jonas, Zach, Vinnie, Amelia, and great papa of Georgie. Dear brother of David (Gayle) Paben, Thomas (Candy) Paben, and Wayne (Cheryl) Paben. Caring uncle of many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents Paul and Veronica Paben, brothers Roger and Brian Paben.
Ed, affectionately known as "Papa" enjoyed spending time in the summer with his grandkids especially time in the pool or at any of their events. He spent a lifetime creating unique ways to pass time, coming up with random jingles for monotous tasks, always finding fun no matter what the scenario. Ed was deeply passionate about his work, proudly dedicating over 40 years to Barry-Wehmiller in Romeoville, IL. He found joy in traveling, had a lifelong appreciation for classic cars, and was a devoted Chicago Cubs fan. Whether at work or pursuing his interests, Ed approached life with enthusiasm and a warm spirit that left a lasting impression on those around him.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 23, 2025, 4:00-9:00 PM at Vandenberg Funeral Home, 19604 Wolf Road, Mokena, IL. 60448. Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday May 24, 2025 at St. Francis Assisi Catholic Church at 10:30 AM. Interment will follow in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery- Mokena.
