Dorothy Schroll

Dorothy Schroll, longtime resident of Markham, IL, died on October 21st, 2019 at the age of 94 in Lemont, IL. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur; son Richard Schroll; brothers Martin and Junior Mortensen and sisters Charlotte and June Mortensen and Eileen Roberts. Dorothy is survived by daughter Sharon L. Hart, sister Virginia "Johnnie" Finn, brother Richard (Joanne) Mortensen, grandchildren Michael (Amanda) Triezenberg, Richard (Caryn) Schroll, Lynn (Gary) Niner, Mark (Tia) Triezenberg, Nathan (Jennifer) Schroll, Ryan Schroll; great-grandchildren Cassandra, Max, Delaney, Dan, Joey, Kali, Brian, Brandon, Danielle, Rachel, Tyler, Sophia, Logan, and Meredith; great-great grandchild Sawyer Joe, and many loving nephews, nieces, and neighbors. Dorothy was born on June 22nd, 1925 to Katherine and Emil Mortensen in Oak Forest, IL. On October 17th, 1942, she married Arthur, who would remain the love of her life for 67 years. Dorothy was a life-long devotee to her family's welfare and happiness. Succeeding numerous jobs in retail, including being a S & R variety store owner, she worked for Heritage Health in Country Club Hills for twenty-seven years, avidly taking care of her customers well-being until the age of 81. When not working, she loved cooking for others, baking, and caretaking for anyone that crossed her path. A lifelong Lutheran, she was a devoted member of the Markham Lutheran Church. She was personally a lover of singing, dancing, and music. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Visitation will be held Saturday October 26, 2019 from 2:00-6:00 PM at Vandenberg Funeral Home, 19601 S. Wolf Rd, Mokena IL, 60477. Funeral Service at 6:00 PM. Interment will be private.
