Donald F. Weindorfer

Donald F. Weindorfer, age 84, late of Mokena, IL, passed away peacefully on November 6, 2026. A proud United States Navy veteran, Donald honorably served two years on active duty followed by four years in the Naval Reserve. Longtime parishioner of St. Mary Church in Mokena, IL.

Donald was a graduate of Reavis High School in Burbank, Illinois, and was a hardworking man who took great pride in his career and family. He was the proud owner of Climate Comfort Corp., an HVAC company serving the Tinley Park and Mokena communities. A natural handyman, Donald had a talent for fixing just about anything, especially when it came to working on cars.

In his free time, Donald enjoyed vacationing, camping trips to the beautiful dunes and lakes of Michigan, and spending time at stock car races. He could often be found at Raceway Park in Blue Island or making trips to Union Grove Dragstrip in Wisconsin. He also had a strong interest in military history and enjoyed keeping up with current events and reading the newspaper. He was always interested in learning what was happening in the world around him.

Donald treasured time spent with his family, especially the wonderful family gatherings and making memories with his grandchildren. He also had a special place in his heart for his beloved pets, including his cocker spaniel, Will, and his bird, Chico, a cockatiel whose cheerful singing and chirping brought joy to the home. He also enjoyed accompanying his wife on outings to art museums.

Donald's greatest joy was his family. He cherished every opportunity to bring everyone together, spend time with his grandchildren, and make memories with the people who meant the most to him. Whether sharing stories, enjoying a family gathering, working on a car, or simply spending time at home with his beloved pets, Donald found happiness in the little things. He will be remembered for his hardworking nature, his many talents, his love of adventure, and most of all, the love he had for his family. He leaves behind a lifetime of memories that will be treasured by all who knew and loved him. He will be greatly missed.

Beloved husband of Emilia "Emmy" (nee Hubeck) Weindorfer for 61 wonderful years. Loving father of Elizabeth (Paul) Wirth, Michael Weindorfer, the late Thomas Weindorfer. Cherished grandfather of Anthony, Adam (Marissa) Wirth, Heather (Reginald) Curtis, and Rebekah Wirth. Cherished great grandfather of Ellena, Emma, and Luke. Dear son of the late Francis and the late Joyce Weindorfer. Kind friend to many.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Craig, who lovingly cared for Donald over the past three years. His kindness, compassion, and dedication meant so much to Donald and his family. They are forever grateful for the care, friendship, and support he provided during that time.

Visitation, Sunday, November 15, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Vandenberg Funeral Home, 19604 S. Wolf Rd. Mokena, IL 60448. Prayers at the Funeral Home, Monday, November 16, 2026, 9:30 a.m. to St. Mary Church in Mokena, IL for 10:00 a.m. Funeral Mass with military honors to follow. Interment will be Private.
