Dennis Patrick Gabel

Dennis Gabel, age 63, passed away on February 5, 2026, after a long health battle.

Dennis was born to Patrick and Sandra Gabel, who preceded him in death. He was a devoted brother, uncle, and friend who valued time spent with those closest to him.

He is survived by his sisters, Denise Gabel of Matteson, Illinois, Donna (John) Gabel-Herbig of Tennessee , and Debbie Watson of Tennessee; his niece, Ashley Myers; his great nephew, Giovanni; and his beloved girlfriend, Theresa Kalinowski.

Dennis was an accomplished athlete who excelled in many pursuits. He loved golfing and enjoyed bowling, baseball, and playing pool. Known for his natural ability, Dennis was good at everything he tried. He especially cherished time spent outdoors, camping and fishing, and had a deep fondness for the Monee Reservoir, where he shared many special moments with Theresa.

Visitation will be held on Thursday from 3:00 p.m. until the time of service at Vandenberg Funeral Home in Tinley Park, Illinois.

Funeral services for Mr. Dennis Gabel will take place on Friday at 11:00 a.m. at Vandenberg Funeral Home, Tinley Park.

Burial will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, located at 6001 West 111th Street, Alsip, Illinois 60803.

Dennis will be remembered for his athleticism, his love of the outdoors, and the joy he found in being surrounded by family and friends.
