Delbert C. Yunker 72, A lifelong resident of Mokena, died peacefully at his home on Monday May 13, 2013. Beloved husband of Joan nee Elliott. Loving father of Karen (Frank) McHenry and Kimberly (John) Nave. Proud grandfather of Maverick and Dutch Nave. Numerous cousins and wonderful friends. Preceded in death by his parents Clyde and Dorothy Yunker. Funeral service Saturday 10:30 AM at the Vandenberg Funeral Home 19604 S. Wolf Rd. Mokena, IL. Interment in St. John Cemetery. Visitation Friday from 2:00 to 9:00 PM. Graduate of Lincolnway High School and a United States Army Veteran, Delbert worked for his father at Clyde Yunker Plumbing Co. for 23 years before leaving to act as Chief of the Mokena Fire Protection District until he retired in 1991. Delbert also worked at Timberview RV for several years, loved fishing, his family and wintering in Texas. Long time member of the Mokena Lions Club and the Mokena Chamber of Commerce.
