Deborah Luckman-Ogorek
October 29, 1953 - June 27, 2026
Deborah Luckman-Ogorek, of Markham, Illinois, passed away on June 27, 2026, at the age of 72, leaving behind a lifetime of cherished memories, enduring friendships, and a love story that remained in her heart until her final day.
Born on October 29, 1953, to Robert and Elizabeth Luckman, Debbie was raised in Markham, where her family took great pride in their home and in creating a welcoming place filled with love and care. Those values remained with her throughout her life.
Debbie met the love of her life, Jack, in a story that seemed destined from the start. Not only did they share a birthday of October 29, but they also shared an unwavering love for the Chicago Cubs. Their relationship was built on companionship, laughter, and countless memories together. Though Jack passed away in April of 2009, Debbie carried his memory with her every day. She found comfort in the handwritten letters they had exchanged, treasuring each one as a tangible reminder of the love they shared. Those letters became some of her most prized possessions and kept Jack close to her heart throughout the rest of her life.
Together, Debbie and Jack also adored their beloved dog, whose companionship brought them both great happiness.
Life was not always easy for Debbie. She endured difficult chapters before finding the love and stability she shared with Jack, making the years they spent together even more meaningful. Debbie was a simple woman whose greatest joys were never found in material things. She loved keeping busy and always wanted to be on the go. Whether it was visiting with friends, reminiscing over treasured letters, or simply getting out and enjoying the day, she appreciated the simple pleasures of life and the memories she made along the way.
She is survived by her cousins and dear friends, all of whom will remember her gentle spirit, her devotion to those she loved, and the memories she so carefully preserved.
Debbie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jack, in April of 2009; her parents, Robert and Elizabeth Luckman; and her brother, Jeff Luckman.
She was laid to rest at the foot of her parents' grave at Arlington Cemetery in Elmhurst, Illinois, a place of peace where she now rests beside the family she so dearly loved.
Though those who loved her grieve her passing, they find comfort in knowing she is reunited once again with Jack, the love of her life. Their shared birthday first connected them, and now eternity keeps them side by side once more.
May Debbie's memory live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her, serving as a reminder that life's greatest treasures are not measured by possessions, but by love, loyalty, and the memories we carry with us forever.
