Cynthia Jean Boyne (Waller), age 80, passed away peacefully on May 29, 2026.
Born on November 11, 1945, in Chicago, Illinois, Cynthia lived a life rooted in faith, family, compassion, and service to others. She was a woman ahead of her time, known for her strength, intelligence, determination, and unwavering love for those around her.
As a journeyman lineman, Cynthia broke barriers in her field and set an extraordinary example of courage and perseverance. She was a true trailblazer who inspired generations that followed, while always remaining humble, kind, and deeply devoted to the people she loved most.
Cynthia was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend whose warmth, generosity, and gentle spirit touched all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Family was the center of Cynthia's world. She found her greatest joy in caring for those she loved and celebrating the milestones, accomplishments, and everyday moments that brought her family together.
She was a devoted mother to her loving children, Jim (Leagh) Boyne, Tim (Karen) Boyne, Tracy (Aida) Arriaga-Boyne, and Carrie (Jim) Ricchetti.
Cynthia was the proud and cherished grandmother of Jay, Connor, Sean, Anna, Collin, Delaney (Rudy), Madison, Caroline, Taylor (Nathan), Logan, Brayden, Seraphina, Jack, Luke, and Vivienne. She was also blessed with three beloved great-grandchildren, Nolan, Hayden, and Odette.
She is also survived by her beloved siblings, Wayne Waller and Kevin (Jean Roche) Waller, as well as many treasured nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever hold her memory close to their hearts.
Cynthia was preceded in death by her parents, Mary and Clarence Waller; her beloved grandsons, Jay Boyne and Collin Boyne; and her siblings, Mary Wassner, Charlotte Waller, and Kenny Waller.
Those who knew Cynthia will remember her loving heart, quiet strength, generous spirit, and the kindness she extended so freely to everyone she met. She had a remarkable ability to make others feel welcomed, valued, and cared for.
Cynthia's legacy is one of love, faith, resilience, and determination. She paved the way for others through her hard work and dedication, but her greatest accomplishment was always the family she built and the love she shared. Her family is incredibly proud of all she achieved and grateful for the wisdom, strength, and example she leaves behind.
Though Cynthia will be deeply missed, the memories she created and the lives she touched will remain a lasting source of comfort, inspiration, and gratitude.
Visitation and Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, June 14, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Vandenberg Funeral Home Mokena, 19604 Wolf Road, Mokena, Illinois 60448.
Visitation will continue on Monday, June 15, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, 19515 115th Avenue, Mokena, Illinois 60448. A Funeral Mass will begin at 10:00 a.m.
Burial will immediately follow at St. Mary Cemetery, Mokena, Illinois.
