Carol Ann Jacobs, née Teske, born March 19, 1946, passed away peacefully at home on August 26, 2026, surrounded by the love of the family she spent her life building and caring for.

Carol was the beloved wife of Kenneth Jacobs, with whom she shared 56 years of marriage. Together, they raised five children: Karen (Mike) Hannon, Wayne (Sara) Jacobs, Janet Jacobs, Larry (Michelle) Jacobs, and JoAnn (Karl) Propes. She was the proud grandmother of eight and great-grandmother of three, and she leaves behind many additional family members and loved ones who will miss her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilbur and Verna (née Rockrohr) Teske; her four siblings, Violet, Wilbur, Robert, and Shirley; and her beloved pug, Mitzie.

Carol spent her life doing what may very well be the hardest and most important job of all: raising a family. As a stay-at-home mother, wife, and homemaker, she poured herself into caring for the people she loved. Her children and grandchildren were at the center of her world, and for as long as her health allowed, she traveled to spend time with them and remain part of their lives.

Carol had a special love for animals and a genuine appreciation for nature. Of all the places she traveled, South Dakota held a special place in her heart, particularly the opportunity to see the buffalo.

She also had a creative side and found an outlet in crochet. Over the years, her hands created afghans that became more than blankets. They were pieces of Carol, made patiently and lovingly, and reminders of the woman who made them.

Although Carol was no longer a member of a particular church, her faith remained personal and important to her. She kept God close to her heart and believed deeply in the power of prayer.

Carol greatly missed the family and loved ones who went before her. Those who knew and loved her find comfort in imagining that the reunions have already begun and that somewhere in Heaven this week, there is plenty of pizza and cards waiting for her.

To honor Carol's memory, her family asks that you consider making a donation to your local animal shelter, helping care for the animals she loved so much.

Visitation for Carol will be held on Monday, August 31, 2026, from 10:00 AM until the time of the Funeral Service at 1:00 PM at Vandenberg Funeral Home, 19604 Wolf Rd, Mokena, IL 60448. Burial will follow at St. John's Cemetery in Mokena.

For those able to attend Carol's visitation, the family asks simply: come as you are. There is no need for formality. Come as Carol would have wanted you, comfortable, genuine, and ready to remember a woman whose greatest legacy is the family she loved.
