Hora, Carol A. (nee Kocanda), age 76, late of Mokena, IL, passed away December 8, 2025.

Loving and devoted wife of Joseph Hora, Sr., daughter of the late Joseph and Lillian (nee Kotan) Kocanda, loving mother of Michelle (Tim) Mickens, Joseph (Maria) Hora, Jr., Frank (Diane) Hora, and Melissa (Brian) Albertson, dear grandmother of Brent (Allison), Zachary, Felicia, Ethan, Meagan, Joshua, Alexis, Marco, Julian, Olivia, and Nicholas, great-grandmother of Trey, Farah, Brooklyn, Stella, Benjamin, Jaxson, Quinn, and Elena. Fond sister of Deborah (Mike) Winiars, Ann (late James) Ross, and Lillian (Thomas) Kinney.

Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and the children who lived next door to her, who she watched grow up over the course of sixteen years. An avid reader, her favorite place to frequent was the local library where she was known to have read hundreds of books each year.

Visitation, Monday, December 15, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Vandenberg Funeral Home, 19604 S. Wolf Rd. Mokena, IL 60448. Prayers at the Funeral Home, Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at 9:30 a.m. to St. Mary Church in Mokena, IL for 10:00 a.m. Funeral Mass. Interment will follow at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.
