Betty Winter

Betty Winter of Mokena, Illinois, passed away on July 24, 2026, at the age of 92. Born on April 3, 1934, in Chicago, she spent most of her life in Mokena, where she formed lasting friendships and cherished memories.

Betty loved to spend time with those she loved. She was affectionately known as "The Immortal Meemaw", a nickname that reflected her resilience and unforgettable personality.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John; her son, Jack, who passed away just a few months before her; and her grandson, Aaron Toppen.

Betty is survived by her beloved daughter, Pam; her granddaughters, Amy and Amanda; her great-grandchildren, Taylor, Aubrey, and Sydney; and many extended family members and dear friends who will cherish her memory.

A visitation and remembrance service will be held on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, at Vandenberg Funeral Home in Mokena, 19604 Wolf Road, 4:00-6:00pm with memorial service starting at 6:00pm.
