Barbara A. Scanlon

Barbara A. Scanlon, née Blejski, 79, late of Oak Forest, IL. Beloved wife of William Scanlon. Loving mother of Russell (late Gloria) Olmos, Jennifer (John) Castellano, Bill (Lisa) Scanlon, and Patrick Scanlon. Proud Nana of Jasmine, Joseph (Sophia) Castellano, Emma Scanlon Castellano, and Billy Scanlon, and cherished great-grandmother of Sonny Castellano. Dear sister of the late Timothy (Laura) Blejski. Caring aunt of Adam (Carolina) Blejski and Sarah (Adam) Paulson.

Barbara grew up on Chicago's Southeast Side in the neighborhood known as "The Bush." She loved listening to Motown and oldies and always enjoyed a good shopping trip, especially to Yankee Candle and Kohl's. Above all, Barbara treasured time spent with her family and grandchildren, whether they were working on crafts together or simply enjoying each other's company. She also loved to cook and will be especially remembered for her lasagna and ribs.

Visitation will be held on Monday, September 14, 2026, from 3:00-8:00 PM at Vandenberg Funeral Home, 17248 Harlem Avenue, Tinley Park, IL. Funeral Service will commence on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, at 10:30 AM at the Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Calumet City, IL.
